Leaving behind VVIP Protocols, President Walked on Grand Road for Shri Lord Jagannath’s Darshan in Puri

While walking down from Medical Chhaka to Sun Pillar (Arun Stambha) on grand road in pilgrimage city of Puri, greeting tens of thousands devotees, the President Droupadi Murmu, once again on Thursday proved point a that, Shri Lord Jagannath is supreme ruler and for his Darshan, one need ‘Dedication and Bhakti’.

PURI/NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR:  While walking down from Medical Chhaka to Sun Pillar (Arun Stambha) on grand road in pilgrimage city of Puri,  greeting tens of thousands devotees, the President Droupadi Murmu, once again on Thursday proved point a that, Shri Lord Jagannath is supreme ruler and for his Darshan, one need ‘Dedication and Bhakti’.

Leaving behind her VVIP protocols, President walked like a common devotees and reached the Lion’s Gate. The President, touched the Aruna Stambha and sought blessings before heading towards the Singhadwara  of the 12th century old Shri Lord Jagannath temple , then she washed her feet entered into the shrine while touching all 22 steps of the temple.

After having the darshan of Lord Jagannath and other deities at Srimandir, she will visit Puri Raj Bhawan, where Mahaprasad will be served to her.

The President after offering prayer to deties at sanctum sanctorum,  will also visit Maa Bimala and Mahalaxmi temples on premises of the Jagannath Temple. The devotees will be prohibited from entering the temple during the visit of the President to the temple.
