BHUBANESWAR: Larsen & Toubro , India’s major technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services conglomerate, with global operations, on Friday bagged the Rs 268.11 Crore Drinking Water project planned under Basudha Scheme for Kendrapara’s Aul-Rajkanika under Aul Assembly segment held by BJD’s Pratap Keshari Deb in Odisha.
L&T , which addresses critical needs in key sectors – Hydrocarbon, Infrastructure, Power, Process Industries and Defence – for customers in over 30 countries around the world, will now work to provide fresh water to people of Aul-Rajkanika in Kendrapara once the project implemented within 24 calendar months.
The L&T has offered the lowest bid with some 14% less price of the offered price by the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) under the State Government’s Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department.
Sources manning the Jal ‘O’ Parimal Bhawan in Bhubaneswar L& T, 4 others included KEC Ltd, NCC Ltd, MEIL , which got the Bhadrak project worth Rs 892 Crore and a joint bidder of UMSL& Krishna, had submitted their technical bids, but the L&T won the bid as it had offered 14% less price against the offered price.
Basudha Scheme is the Odisha’s potable Water scheme. It will provide the best quality standard parameter drinking water. Government also launched the grievance help line number 1916.After completion of the project, the shortage of potable will be fulfill according to the need in Rajkanika and Aul blocks of Kendrapara, sources added.
