Know how Bhubaneswar Police nabbed a Veteran Professional Burglar, seized Gold Ornaments weighing about 700 Grams worth 42 Lakhs, Rs 21 Lakh Cash, Silver Ornamanets Worth Rs 4.20 Lakh

BHUBANESWAR:   Investigating a series of burglary cases  in Bhubaneswar city Commissionerate Police, BBSR UPD in a swift and timely action nabbed a single man veteran professional burglar Parsuram Giri and detected a series of cases he involved. To detect these cases was a big challenge for police.

Name and address of the accused :- Parsuram Giri aka Sana S/o-Gajendra Giri, who is a mason by profession. At –  Sultanpur,P.S – Soro, Balasore, Phone-9438157099/9348538844.

Article seized :-

1. A cash of Rs 21,00,000 /- ( 21 Lakhs ).
2. Gold ornaments weighing about 700 Grams ( worth about 42 Lakhs ).
3. Silver ornaments weighing about 07 kg ( worth about 04 lacs and 20 thousands )
4. Two numbers of crowbars.
5. One bullet motor cycle and one pulsar.
6. One mobile phone.

Modus Operandi :-

1. His M.O is house burglary in night and there is no history of day burglary.
2. He uses an Iron crowbar as weapon of offence.
3. He is single and one man army. No assocoates.
4. Effects his entry to a house by removing the iron grill of the window using house breaking instrument. He never uses main door by breaking open the lock.
5. Only targets the locked houses. Checks the sound of running fan, AC so also lock of the houses at main gate to make sure that nobody is present inside.
6. Operates in between 1.oo A.M to 3.00 A.M.
7. Uses one torch and a mobile phone in flight mode to know the time.
8. Moves hiring OLA and rapido vehicle to different destinations for commission of crime.
9. Always remains on bare foot.
10. Always avoids main road and moves by walking in lanes and jumping over boundary walls.
11. Never disclose regarding crime to any one even to his family members.
12. Only takes gold, silver and cash. Never takes electronics appliances like mobile, laptops, tablets as he believes that police can track those.
13. When meets any police personnel or PCR on road, takes plea of other works.
14. No fear to installed CCTV at the spot houses.

He spends all the ill-gotten money by purchasing brand dresses, costly shoes, a Royal Enfield 350 bullet, Bajaj Pulsur 150 bikes and used to go outside states like Mumbai, Kolkata and Goa availing flights. There he stayed in luxurious hotels and went to night clubs, pubs. Apart from that he also used to spent nights with high society call girls.  He stayed some days at hotel TAJ at Mumbai. In spite of all these things he constructed 05 rooms at Shivanagar Basti, near Chilli pokhari, Badagada and rent out the same. He has purchased a piece of land and constructed a house at his village. He has also some deposits in LIC.

Early life :-

After dropout he helped his father in construction work as a labour and in the year 2003 got married to Jhunu @ Puja Giri of village Khirikuni of Soro P.S who was a house wife. Subsequently he was addicted to brown sugar, alcohol and becoming ill tempered. He was blessed by a son namely Lakhyadeep Giri. He used to torture his wife for which she committed suicide by poisoning in the year 2006 around Durga Puja. In this case he was forwarded from Soro P.S and lodged in Balasore Jail for  about 09 months. After releasing on bail he came to Bhubaneswar in the year 2008 and started working under a builder namely Sashikant Sahoo staying at Nayapali area. He worked there for 03 years and supervised the construction work of the said builder. Due to financial dispute he left the place and worked under a Bengali mason namely Sakil Khan staying at Badagada, Bhubaneswar.

Acquaintance with crime :-

When working with Sakil Khan he met another labour namely Ganesh Patra from Nayagarh side who used to work  with him. In the year 2011 Ganesh Patra exhibited a stolen blackberry mobile phone to Parsuram  to sell the same @ Rs.1500/- and accordingly he purchased the same. Infocity P.S police tracked the stolen mobile, nabbed him and also Ganesh and forwarded to the court. He was in custody at Jharpada jail for 15 days and subsequently released on bail.

He continued worked there and in the year 2012 he worked independently as a mason and used to stand at Badheibanka square under Sri Lingaraj P.S and was staying at Tareni Basti under Badagada P.S on rent. In the year 2013 he found an ATM card lying on the road with the password written on the cover. Then he went to an ATM counter checked the balance amount and withdrew an amount of Rs.25,000/-. At that time he has purchased a red black pulsur 150, OD-02-F-5627 stands registered in his wife’s name Snehalata Giri.  Police tracked the vehicle number getting from CCTV footage collected from the ATM counter and searched for him.

He surrendered in the court and remanded for 7 days to Jharpada special jail. He met one Banamber Sahoo of Badamba Narsingpur, Cuttack who was also locked in the jail and both of them released from the jail on the same day. Banamber was staying at village Keshura and was a professional snatcher  also a burglar. After 02 days he along with Banamber went to Chandrasekhpur area in the dead hour of the night by his Pulsar and parked the same at Patia Petrol pump.

They burgled a house by using house breaking instrument and effected their entry removing the iron grill of the window. He got one laptop and a mobile phone which he sold out at Nice communication Soro @ Rs.15,000/-. In his second attempt he became independent and committed crime as single man at Bramheswarpatana area where he got a mobile phone and a diamond ring. He used the stolen mobile phone by using his own SIM no.9438157099 which was tracked by the police and nabbed by Badagada P.S. He was in jail custody for 3 months so also remanded in Infocity P.S  Case.

Then he engaged himself in construction work and attached to a contractor Ramesh of Samantrapur. In the year 2018 there was dispute with a ply businessman for which in a kidnapping case he along with his contractor Ramesh was in jail custody being forwarded from Badagada P.S and stayed at Jharpada Jail for a period of one month and 17 days. After releasing on bail he used to work in day time and committed series of burglary in Bhubaneswar especially Badagada, Laxmisagar , Mancheswar and Dhauli area.  In toto he is involved in approx 50 cases and sold the stolen ornaments to one
