BHUBANESWAR: In this connection, Vigilance Cell PS Case No 4/2023 U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Parida, Jr Engineer. Detailed report follows.
On Thursday, Bauribandhu Parida, Jr Engineer, Badamba Block, Dist- Cuttack has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 30, 000/- from a Complainant(Contractor) for passing of muster roll in connection with a development work under MGNREG scheme. The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Sri Parida, JE and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Parida from DA angle. During searches so far, Rs 3 Lakhs cash has been recovered from the house of Sri Parida located at Balikuda, Cuttack seized. Also, a car (Kia) worth approx 15 lakhs and RSD documents of a plot recently purchased at approx Rs 30 lakhs have been recovered. Searches continuing.
