BHUBANESWAR: Khurda SP Ajeya Pratap Swain, who is also brother of Odisha Civil Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Raja Swain aka Ranedra Pratap Swain, was on Thursday tested positive for COVID-19. The SP Swain , who hails from Cuttack’s Athagarh, himself confirmed the development.
According to sources, a staff of district police headquarters had tested positive for the deadly virus. Following this, swab samples of all other staffs were collected and sent for the COVID tests. However, the swab report of Swain came out positive.
As soon as the results were announced, he underwent home quarantine. As per protocol, people, who came into close contact with the officer will also be tested.
