BHUBANESWAR:Khordha Police continued its intensified drive against illegal mining and unauthorized transportation of laterite stone, morrum, and sand across various Police Station jurisdictions in the district. Acting on credible inputs and consistent field surveillance, multiple enforcement teams conducted surprise raids at different locations today.
During the operation, police seized a total of 𝟭𝟯 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀, including 𝟬𝟲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀 loaded with laterite stones, 𝟬𝟰 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀 carrying illegal sand, and 𝟬𝟯 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘀 transporting unlawful morrum. Additionally, 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗖𝗕 machine used in the illegal extraction activity was also confiscated.
Police teams apprehended 𝟬𝟱 accused persons at the spot for their direct involvement in the illegal trade.
Further investigation is underway to identify other persons involved in the operation, including transporters, financiers, and site operators.
