GIST OF FIR:
On 15.02.2026 at about 01:30 AM, during a joint inspection at Madmule (OD-02) Bar, Sriya Square, Bhubaneswar, the complainant Sri Debashish Patel, Superintendent of Excise, Bhubaneswar, along with other Excise and Police officials, found the bar operating beyond the permissible closing hours.
While the officials were lawfully discharging their official duties and questioning the staff, some unauthorized persons, appearing to be bouncers of the bar, intentionally obstructed them, used abusive and threatening language, and created a chaotic situation inside the premises. One of the accused, Abinash Sahoo, was apprehended at the spot for restraining and using criminal force against the officials with the intention of deterring them from performing their lawful duties.
Accordingly, Kharavelnagar P.S. Case No. 111 dated 15.02.2026 was registered U/s 221/223/132/351(2)/351(3)/3(5) BNS, and investigation was taken up.
On the basis of sufficient prima facie evidence, the accused Abinash Sahoo (44) was arrested on 15.02.2026 at 12:46 PM and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court.
