BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: Dr Akshay Kumar Rout, who was a very well known paediatrician of Jamshedpur and Tata Nagar and hails from Lalbaluria under Pattamundai block of Odisha’s Kendrapara district, passed away in Bhubaneswar.
Dr Rout, passed away on Monday evening in Bhubaneswar. He is survived by his wife Pushpa Rout, and three daughters Sujata, Sushmita and Suchitra. He studied in the village school and passed out of SCB medical college & hospital in 1972.
He was famous in Tatanagar for treating children of poor people with very little cost or no cost. His clinic in Telco was a hope for many downtrodden people.
His eldest daughter Sujata Rout Karthikeyan is an IAS officer, heading the Mission Shakti. She is married to IAS VK Pandian, Secretary to Odisha CM& 5T. His other two daughters, Sushmita Rout, is a veterinarian and youngest daughter, Suchitra Rout, is a management professional.
