BHUBANESWAR/PURI: With the on-going “ Shreemandira Parikrama” project of Odisha’s pilgrimage city of Puri getting worldwide attention for its architectural beauty and religious attractions, Lord Jagannath devotees have started contributing for it.
With Dr Krishan Kumar, a pro-active IAS officer heading the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, corporate houses too had shown their interest for donation.
On Thursday, Dr Soumya Ranjan Samal, Managing Director, Kalinga Commercial Corporation Limited met Chief Administrator of SJTA and extended a contribution of Rs. 1 Crore towards development of “ Shreemandira Parikrama” project.
This project is being taken up by Management Committee for providing facilities and amenities to devotees coming to Puri Dham for Darshan of Mahaprabhu Shree Jagannatha. #JaiJagannatha.
The “ Shreemandira Parikrama” project is being directly monitored by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and 5T Secretary VK Pandian. With Dr Kumar at the helm of affairs flanked by timely help and support from Puri Collector Samartha Verma and SP K Vishal Singh, all works going smoothly.
According to the Shree Mandira Parikarama Plan, the entire area within 75 metre around the Shree Jagannath Temple will be transformed into a Heritage Corridor to attract millions of devotees from across the world. Puri District Collector Samarth Verma said that the land acquisition process for the plan within the 75 meters corridor is almost complete.
Few weeks back, Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) had passed a Unanimous Resolution regarding the Shree Jagannath Heritage Corridor project.
