BARBIL/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Mineral Bearing Areas Development Corporation (OMBADC) Oversight Authority and Former Supreme Court Judge , Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik is on a 3-day visit to Keonjhar to take stock of the progress of works of various developmental initiatives in the district.
Justice Patnaik was welcomed by officials on arrival and during his stay, Justice Patnaik will review various works.
Justice AK Patnaik, on his first day, visited 5T Transformed High School at Ramchandrapur, Ghasipura. He expressed his happiness with the use of technology and learning aid for imparting education.
Next, he visited the ongoing work site of Anandapur indoor stadium. He was happy with plan and progress where such a facility is provided across the district. Next, he visited piped drinking water project for 19 villages in Hatadihi.
Later, he interacted with the community and oversaw the works under ‘Ama Jungle Yojana’. He enquired with the community for understanding the possible income-generating activities and advised to engage in more diversified activities.
Later, he visited Mother and Child Centre at Ghatgaon where he interacted with the CDMO and enquired about the services being extended for the public. He stressed on improving the overall scenario of mother and child health care in Odisha. At the last leg of his first day visit Justice Patnaik went to the Maternal & Child Health building (MCH-30 bedded) at Ghatagaon block where he advised CDMO and other officials on utility being extended for the public.
On second day of his visit, Justice Patnaik visited Krushi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) at Keonjhar and expressed his happiness about the Agri Livelihoods Demo-cum-Service provisions units, Capacity building and first order Agri processing units. Later he interacted with farmers attending skill development sessions at KVK.
Later Justice Patnaik visited Basudevpur SSD Girls High School in Champua Block and inspected the educational Infrastructure development of Library Room and Dining Hall in the school. Later Justice Patnaik visited checkdam at Sialijoda, Joda Block and the agriculture activities supported by the checkdam.
He appreciated the intervention which has helped people to shift from Mining Activities to Horticulture activities. He further advised district officials to take up similar projects with maximum impact for the benefit of people.
OMBADC has been incorporated as a SPV under Sec.8 of the Companies Act 2013 on December 02,2014 for tribal welfare and area development works in the mineral bearing district
