BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence Chairman and BJP’s sitting Sundargarh Lok Sabha MP, Jual Oram has on Friday exposed the seriousness of Odisha Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik towards COVID-19 warrior.
The former Union Tribal Affairs Minister, Oram in a letter to Chief Minister Patnaik has urged to pay a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to Nirmala Soren, wife of Sushil Sore of Kankerjori , Kinjirkela under Bisamakata block of Sundargarh, who died on April 27 while performing her duty as an Asha Karmi. The victim Asha Karmi belongs to Sundargarh Lok Sabha seat held by Oram.
“I would like to inform you that Nirmala Soren, wife of Sushil Sore of Kankerjori , Kinjirkela under Bisamakata block of Sundargarh, who died on April 27 while performing her duty as an Asha Karmi shall be given Rs 50 lakhs compensation as declared by the State Government for COVID-19 worrior,” Oram wrote to Naveen.
The former Union Minister had few days back had twitted this while no response yet from Odisha Government and Chief Minister Patnaik, sources said .
