This is all set to shape a growth story of massive proportion.
Scientific mining and regional value addition are crucial tools to alleviate poverty and bring about significant regional socio-economic progress. As the highest contributor of revenue from iron ores, JSW’s role in Odisha is becoming more and more pronounced with each passing day as the state gears up to counter the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic that has undone decades of progress in less than two years.
We strongly believe in our ability to generate jobs and thereby contribute to a Better Everyday and hence this is core to and a fundamental responsibility of ours. This becomes our key performance indicator while measuring our success as a business. Sustainable mining and it’s crucial contribution in an emerging economy such as Odisha, in the short & long term, and resulting socio-economic upliftment cannot be understated anymore.
Supporting Sports, Education & Public Health Delivery mechanisms:
We at JSW, contribute not only through core sectors like steel, power, cement, ports but also are determined to create a strong foundation in sports for the state. At the national level, through the Inspire Institute of Sports, we are training and nurturing some of the best talents across the country, many of whom have already brought us medals. It is our goal to win more medals at the Olympics and put India as a sporting powerhouse in the global map.
In Odisha, Sports is high on JSW agenda and special initiatives are taken to hone the sporting potential. High Performance Centre is fully operational at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar and such HPCs are being planned at many locations within the state. We are focused to improve the life of the community in project areas by strengthening Public Health delivery system, water and sanitation measures and augmenting education infrastructure.
JSW is serious in its commitment to environment and the flora and fauna of the State. As a gesture of its association, JSW adopted all the tigers from Nandankanan zoo last year in December for an entire year. Our relationship with Odisha will continue to grow stronger with each passing day and we will relentlessly work together for a Better Everyday.
