ANGUL/BHUBANESWAR: Jindal Steel and Power Limited Chairman, Naveen Jindal , who was at his Company’s Angul Steel complex in Odisha, on Thursday spoken to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and assured that JSPL-Raigarh Facility in neighbouring Chhattisgarh bordering Odisha, will supply medical oxygen soon.
“Had a discussion with Madhya Pradesh CM Shri @ChouhanShivraj and assured him that we will supply #Oxygen from our @JSPLCorporate Raigarh plant to MP. @OfficeofSSC #IndiaFightsCorona,” JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal tweeted @MPNaveenJindal.
“We have more than 500 tons of liquid oxygen readily available at our Angul plant. Apart from this, we can provide 100 tonnes/day to any government that needs it.We will continue to support the nation in all possible ways in this war against the pandemic. Jai HindFlag of India,” the former 2times Lok Sabha MP from Haryana’s Kruskhetra, said in another tweet.
Meanwhile, Angul Collector in Odisha has again thanked JSPL after its CSR arms, JSPL Foundation handed over 1000 facemasks to district administration.“Thanks, JSPL Foundation for supplying 1000 masks in 1st phase for front-line workers of Angul district,” Collector & DM, Angul tweeted @angul_dm.
Earlier in the day, JSPL Chairman reviewed ongoing expansion work at Angul in Odisha.“Our Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal reviewing safety and operations with the team at our integrated steel complex at Angul, Odisha. @MPNaveenJindal,” JINDAL STEEL & POWER tweeted @JSPLCorporate.
JSPL’s Chairman Naveen Jindal already announced that JSPL will supply 50 to 100 tonnes every day of medical oxygen from its Odisha and Chhattisgarh Unit. JSPL Chairman had earlier said “JSPL has been always standing with the Country and Countrymen during calamities and emergencies and will continue to do so during this Pandemic. For us, it is Nation First. I am sure together we shall defeat the Pandemic”.
The Company had supplied 725 tons of liquid oxygen in Odisha last year to save human lives from COVID Pandemic.Medical Oxygen is critical in the treatment of medical complications that develop due to the COVID-19.
JSPL has also taken multipronged initiatives to fight the second wave of COVID-19 across all its operational locations, including Odisha. The Company has instituted COVID Care Centres in each of its business locations. Thermal Screening of the Workforce, employees, vaccination, periodic testing of all employees and workers, facilities for sanitisation, distribution of masks, operation of isolation centres etc. are being done extensively to keep JSPL’ workplace safe.
Pursuing its CSR responsibility the Company under the umbrella of its Social Arm JSPL Foundation has been providing hot cooked meals to the underprivileged and vulnerable everyday also has been distributing face masks, Sanitizers, Phenyls, etc. manufactured by the Women SHGs to the Community, Workforce and the front line COVID warriors for last one year since the onset of the global pandemic.
