NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Jindal Steel and Power Limited Chairman and 2 times former Lok Sabha MP, Naveen Jindal, was on Sunday wished people of Odisha, particularly the western parts of the State, on occasion of Nuakhai Festival.
“Greetings and best wishes to the people of Odisha on the auspicious Nuakhai Festival. I pray to Ma Samleswari for the prosperity of Odisha and mother India . ନୂଅଁ।ଖାଇ ଜୁହାର .#NuakhaiJuhar,” JSPL Chairman tweeted @MPNaveenJindal.
Nuakhai is an agricultural festival mainly observed by people of western Odisha in India. It is observed to welcome the new rice of the season. According to the calendar it is observed on panchami tithi (the fifth day) of the lunar fortnight of the month of Bhadrapada or Bhadraba (August–September), the day after the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
