JSPL Chairman Naveen Jindal Turns 51

BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: The Jindal Steel and Power Limited Chairman and former 2times Haryana’s Kurukshetra Lok Sabha MP, Naveen Jindal on Tuesday turned 51.

Naveen Jindal, an Indian industrialist and a former MP in 14th and 15th Lok Sabha, was born on March 9 1970 at Hisar in Haryana to JSPL Group founder late OP Jindal and former State Minister Sabitri Jindal. Naveen Jindal currently serves as the Chairman of JSPL and Chancellor of O. P. Jindal Global University, besides, Chairman, Flag Foundation India.

The University of Texas at Dallas educated, Naveen Jindal, has been steering JSPL’s journey after his father late OP Jindal’s demise. Backed by Naveen Jindal’s towering corporate leadership, JSPL Group now became one of the top corporate conglomerates of India.

Naveen Jindal’s vision at JSPL is driven by the core principle of Nation Building. Under his leadership, each of the businesses of JSPL is focused towards building world-class capabilities to make India self-reliant and a global economic powerhouse. His tenacity and drive have transformed JSPL into a conglomerate with presence across Africa, Oman and Australia.

JSPL Chairman is an avid sportsperson, an active Polo Player and a National record holder in skeet shooting. Naveen Jindal is married to noted Indian classical dancer and a compassionate CSR leader Shallu Jindal. The couple is blessed with two children, Venkatesh and Yashasvini.

He is the President of the Flag Foundation of India. He led a campaign to democratise the Tricolour, and his decade-long legal struggle resulted in a historic Supreme Court judgment allowing every Indian to display the Indian Flag with pride on all days of the year. He was elected twice to Indian Parliament where he served as a Parliamentarian for 10 years and made many contributions.
