SUNDARGARH/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched JSP Foundation –Dilip Tirkey Foundation Sponsored Grassroots Hockey Programme in Sundargarh. Since long, the Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power and its CSR Wing, JSP Foundation, led by Shallu Jindal, has been remained as a remarkable partner in Odisha’s growth story.
While addressing the gathering through virtual mode, CM Patnaik, said, Sundargarh is hockey’s nursery and the State Government had successfully hosted world cup events twice . ‘I am happy that JSP foundation and DTF jointly launching the programme in 215 villages in Sundargarh , which will cover 5000 budding hockey talents. 5000 hockey sticks were distributed , which was praised by CM Patnaik.
‘I am thanking JSP Chairman Naveen Jindal and DTF chairman Dilip Tirkey,’ CM Patnaik said adding , he lauded the efforts to promote hockey from grassroots level. Rourkela’s Birsa Munda Stadium is largest hockey Stadium in the World, he said. CM Patnaik hoped that such steps by JSP Foundation and DTF would continue to help for promotion of hockey in Sundargarh. Dronacharya Awardee former Indian hockey coach praise Mr Naveen Jindal for his prolonged fight for Indian citizens to fly Tiranga with dignity .
JSP Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal’s message was read out during the event while a video clip containing JSP Chairman Naveen Jindal’s life and others events were also aired on this occasion.
