BHUBANESWAR: The Jindal Steel and Power Chairman and former 2times Lok Sabha MP, Naveen Jindal on Sunday remembered legendary statesman and founder of modern Odisha, Biju Patnaik on his Punyatithi.
“Homage to Shri Biju Patnaik on his Punyatithi. Biju babu was a visionary leader, ace pilot, maker of modern Odisha and a real life hero,” JSP Chairman Naveen Jindal tweeted @MPNaveen Jindal.
Biju Patnaik (5 March 1916 – 17 April 1997) was an Indian politician, aviator and businessman. As politician, he served twice as the Chief Minister of the State of Odisha. Biju Patnaik’s younger son, Naveen Patnaik, is the current Chief Minister of Odisha. His daughter, Gita Mehta, is an English writer. His elder son Prem Patnaik is a Delhi-based industrialist.
Old timers in industry and mining sectors said, during his time, Naveen Jindal’s father late Shri OP Jindal, along with IMFA Group founder late Dr Bansidhar Panda, who also father of present BJP National , VP Baijayant Jay Panda, were frequent visitors to legendary Biju Patnaik’s residence, called Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar, where present Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik resides or at his Kalinga Tubes at Choudwar in Cuttack in early 60s and 70s.
After that rest his History and Shri OP Jindal’s brainchild Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), is now a household name in the Country including in Odisha and 4 of his Sons flourishing with high profile business conglomerates.
