The BJP Lok Sabha MP Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power’s CSR wing, JSP Foundation headed by Chairperson; Shallu Jindal , has served around 10 lakh free cooked meals along with cold drinking water to devotees who throng to this pilgrimage city of Puri in Odisha during the World Famous Rath Yatra of Shree Lord Jagannath and his siblings started from July 7.

PURI/BHUBANESWAR:  The BJP Lok Sabha MP Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power’s CSR wing, JSP Foundation headed by Chairperson; Shallu Jindal , has served around 10 lakh free cooked meals along with cold drinking water to devotees who throng to this pilgrimage city of Puri in Odisha during the World Famous Rath Yatra of Shree Lord Jagannath and his siblings started from July 7.

The philanthropic works by BJP MP Naveen Jindal and his Company , JSP and its CSR wing, JSP Foundation led by his wife Shallu Jindal, have drawn tremendous response from devotees in Puri.

Meticulous ground work put in place to ensure free cooked meals for devotees,  as a result of which , in last 7 days, JSP Foundation officials and volunteers  led by Prashant Hota, President and JSP Group Head – CSR, Education & Sustainability, and Odisha Head Corporate Communications, served around 10 Lakhs free cooked meals and cold drinking water to devotees while registering its dominance in CSR and social works during Shree Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, which pulled millions of devotees from across the Globe.

Since past 7 days, a large crowd of devotees were seen gathering at JSP’s Mission Zero Hunger- Free Hot Cooked Meal Service Centers spread across on the Grand Road. JSP Foundation’s Mission Zero Hunger, Free Hot Cooked Meal Service, center stationed on Grand Road, Saradhabali and Bus Stand drew huge devotees in the last 7 days.

Under its Mission Zero Hunger programme, the JSP Foundation is serving  hot cooked meals, which included rice, dalma (a medley of lentils and vegetables), and Khatta (a chutney made from tomatoes, jaggery, and dates). In coordination with the district administration, the Foundation set up a specialized stall with a live kitchen near Shree Gundicha Temple in Puri and continuing its services with the support of more than 100 volunteers.

In order to prevent dehydration among the lakhs of devotees  during RathYatra,  JSP Foundation has also distributed ORS packets to the Deputy Director and District Veterinary Officer at the Puri District Headquarters.

Keeping in view of prevailing monsoon, in support of frontline workers, police personnel, paramilitary forces and other government officials during the RathYatra2024, the  JSP Foundation has contributed Raincoats as part of our social responsibility efforts, official sources in Puri District Administration said. The services by JSP Foundation will continued till Sunabesha Day.

It may be noted here that, JSP Foundation has been continuing such  noble service since 2015 Rath Yatra.  In 2023, JSP Foundation had severed over 1 Million Devotees at Rath Yatra Festival, provided 10.5 lakh hot cooked meals, 6000 glucose packets, chilled drinking water to Devotees while in 2022, JSP Foundation had served cooked meals to more than 4 Lakh devotees , apart from drinking water and other essential commodities.
