BHUBANESWAR: DIG STF, JN Pankaj given additional charge as DIG Central range headquarters Cuttack in place of 2004 batch Ashish Singh, who posted as Excise Commissioner.
Pankaj, a soft spoken IPS officer of 2005 batch from Bihar, having interest in ancient history, came to limelight after he made efforts for a memorial to pay tributes to all innocents who were killed after being branded as witch. ‘Cops in Bollywood’ canteen was also started during his tenure as Keonjhar SP. As DIG STF, Pankaj has turned as a nightmarish for drug peddlers in Odisha.
Sources said since Pankaj joined the STF as DIG, Drug peddlers in the State are finding too difficult to run their business.
With Central Police Range houses districts like Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Nayagarh, Khurda and Puri, DIG Pankaj will have to work hard to keep his house in order.
