Jharsuguda Bypolls: Voter Turnout 41.26% till 1PM

BHUBANESWAR:   Till 1 pm, 41.26 % voting recorded which was  20.38 % till 11 am in Jharsuguda bypolls. Polling was recorded at 9.75 % till 9 am. Chief Electoral Officer NK Dhal said, polling is going on smoothly and polling percentage will hike after 3 pm as the day’s temperature in Jharsuguda recorded nearby 40 degree Celsius.  “We don’t have any technical problem from 9 am till 11 am.’ Dhal said.

About 2,21,719 Voters are participating in the Jharsuguda Bypolls  in Odisha on Wednesday which consists of 1,10,619 males, 1,11,037 females and 63 Trans genders and 249 service voter, 2534 PWD Voters. BJD’s Deepali Das. BJP’s Tankadhar Tripathy and Congress’s Tarun Pandey are among 9 candidates in fray.

Mock Poll was started at 5.30 a.m. followed by Polling at 7.00 AM amid tight security. Two-hourly voting turn out report are being released for information of public. Poll is going in 253 booths in 197 locations.

A total of 1814 Police personnel (including 155 Police Officers, 17 platoon of Armed Police, 323 Havildars/Constables and 205 Home Guards) and 07 companies of CAPF are being deployed for the Poll. CAPF is being deployed in 144 nos. of booths.

A total of 9 candidates including Naba Das’s daughter Dipali Das (BJD), Tankadhar Tripathy (BJP) and Tarun Pandey (Congress) are in fray for the by-poll. All three principal political parties BJD, BJP and Congress have nominated fresh candidates for the by-poll.
