NEW DELHI: Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar presented a book “Guru-Sangraha” which is a compilation of convocation addresses given by Shri Pranab Mukherjee to Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India in New Delhi on Thursday. The book has been prepared by National Book Trust of India.
Speaking on the occasion Prakash Javadekar said that Shri Pranab Mukherjee has always been a torchbearer for us and always focused on innovation, research and quality in the field of education. He said this book is a tribute to the living legend Shri Mukherjee and it will be circulated to various higher educational institutions.
Pranab Mukherjee said that he has always believed that improvement of quality in higher education particularly emphasis on research and innovation is absolutely necessary if number one ranking is to be achieved.
He further said that there is no doubt that under the leadership of Shri Javadekar it would be possible to raise the status of our standards of higher educational institutions so that we can be comparable to the best of the world. He appreciated the efforts of HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and expressed his gratitude for bringing out the book. K.K Sharma, Secretary, Department of Higher Education was also present on the occasion.
