BHUBANE SWAR: On Saturday, Jagannath Pani, Ex-Block Accounts Manager(Disengaged) under NHM(National Health Mission) scheme at CHC, Patrapur, in Ganjam, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Berhampur Vigilance PS case no 24 dated 4.6.2018 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 of PC Act, 1988 for demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant towards release of hire charges of his vehicle engaged in the CHC, Patrapur, was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
He was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs 5,000/- and in default of payment of fine, to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 months more for commission of the offence U/s 13(2)r/w 13(1)(d)/7 of PC Act, 1988. Detailed report follows.
