PURI/BHUBANESWAR: On Monday morning tens of thousands of people throng to the pilgrimage city of Puri in eastern Indian State of Odisha, as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a massive Road Show on Grand Road in Jagannath Dham, one of the four Dhams of Hindus. After having a darshan of the deities in Srimandir, he held a roadshow.
Flanked by BJP’s State President Manmohan Samal, Puri’s Lok Sabha candidate Dr Sambit Patra and MLA candidate Jayant Sarangi, PM Modi waived to the Crowd amid chants of slokas and Modi-Modi shouting.
PM travelled from the Lion’s Gate of the 12th Century BC Hindu shrine to Medical Square amid tens of thousands people standing both sides of the majestic Grand Road, famous for Chariots’ Pulling during the annual Car Festival of presiding deity, Shree Lord Jagannath and his Siblibgs in the month of July. The crowd gathered on Grand Road created a Rath Yatra like situation in Puri.
Earlier, PM Modi, Puri MP Candidate Dr Patra and MLA candidate Sarangi accompanied by senior servitors visited the Shrine and offered prayers. PM Modi was also lighted Diya at Arun Stambha in front of the 12th century old Temple.
PM Modi was joining in a roadshow in Cuttack and then proceeds to hold public meetings in Dhenkanal later in the day.
