BHUBANESWAR: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarasanghachalak(Chief) Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday argued that India is unique because of its ‘Diversity in Unity not Unity in Diversity’.
While addressing intellectuals and media persons ahead of RSS’s 3-days long National meet here, Bhagwat said RSS is working towards uniting entire Hindu society and it is committed for Nation building. Entire society should work for welfare of the nation and RSS teaches its Swayamsevaks that, he added.
Bhagwat said it is essential to organise the society as a whole and all sections must move together and RSS is working in that direction. He was addressing a meeting of intellectuals ahead of the meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal, the highest decision-making body of RSS.
RSS never believes in positions and only their responsibilities given them various positions in organisation, he said adding everyone’s aim, intension and working style is same, that is nation building.
Emphasising that RSS has no hatred towards anyone, Bhagwat said the Sangh seeks to change the entire society, not just the Hindus, to transform the country towards the better.
Addressing a meeting of intellectuals ahead of the meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal, the highest decision-making body of RSS, Bhagwat said it is essential to organise the society as a whole and all sections must move together and RSS is working in that direction.
“We have no hatred towards anyone. We must move together for building a better society that can bring changes and help develop the country as a whole,” he said.
Bhagwat, who arrived in Bhubaneswar on a nine-day visit to Odisha, earlier on the day, said, “It is our wish that the RSS label is removed and RSS and the society work as a single group. Let all credit goes to the society.”
“Nationalism is a word, which is very much opposed by the Western culture as if they think it’s like Hitler in erstwhile Germany,” the RSS chief said. “We have different languages, different life style, and different clothes but since a very long time we are bonding with a strong cultural ethos,” he said. Citing examples, trades binds USA, Islam binds Arab, English language with Britain but India is a cultural country since long, he argued.
Because of this unique feeling of oneness, people belonging to different faiths such as Muslims, Parsis and others feel safe in the country, Bhagawat said. “Parsis are well protected in India and Muslims are also happy.”
In the pursuit to bring about change in society, he said, the right approach is to prepare the best person who can play an important role in effecting the transformation, as it is not possible to change each of the over 130 crore people in the country.
One has to involve if he or she wants to know more about RSS and its philosophy and activities, he said adding it is high time to create personality that will ultimately help for nation building. During the visit, he will attend the maiden meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal, along with Bhayaji Joshi, the second in command in the RSS, Sangh sources said.RSS working committee meeting will be held from October 16 to 18 at a private university.
BJP working president JP Nadda, who is scheduled to undertake a four-day visit to Odisha next week, is likely to attend the RSS meet, the sources added.
Pranta Sanghachalak Samir Kumar Mohanty, Bibhaga Sanghachalak Baikunthanath Sahoo, Mahanagar Sanghachalak Basant Kumar Pati and Mahanagar Sampark Pramukha Jayakrushna Prusty were among those present.
