BHUBANESWAR: On October 3 , 2024, BJD Rajya Sabha MP Manas Ranjan Mangaraj and Soumya Prakash Das, brother of BJD leader Pranab Prakash Das alias Babby Das, formed a joint venture company named ‘Chaturdha Foundation’. It’s registered office address is Villa 15, Trident Galaxy, Ghatikia, Khorda, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India, Pin-751003, which is residence of BJD Rajya Sabha MP Manas Mangaraj.
After this news came to light, a storm has hit BJD because many leaders of this Naveen Patnaik led Regional Party, are apprehending that it has been done keeping an eye on BJD funds. And BJD funds may likely be transferred to this new joint venture. Amid huge internal disturbances in BJD for poll debacle, this new development has added more fuel to it.
As per records, BJD received around Rs 944.50 Crore funds through electoral bonds between 2018-2019 to 2023, besides huge amount of unaccounted money , the party had also got before 2024 general elections. A large amount around Rs 5,700 Crore till not used by the BJD and it was deposited at several accounts. This huge amount now became a headache for BJD with leaders taking either side to get a share.
Surprisingly, during last 24 years of BJD rule, both Babby Das and Mangaraj carried out their separate business . Mangaraj was doing some business with Home Department OSD DS Kutey’s brother Abinash Kutey while Babby Das and his brother have their separate firms but after BJD voted out of power, now both Das and Mangaraj floated a joint venture raising many eyebrows. The timing of launching this new venture is coming at a time when all the ranks and files were against VK Pandian, Babby Das and Manas Mangaraj for poll debacle.
Sources said apprehending their uncertain future in BJD and possible expulsion, VK Pandian, Babby Das and Manas Mangaraj are now trying to shift the BJD funds to this new ‘Chaturdha Foundation’ to carry out their own game plan.
‘Chaturdha Foundation’ having CIN U88900OD2024NPL046998 is 16 days old Private company incorporated with MCA on 3rd October, 2024. It is listed in the class of Private company and classified as Non-govt company. This company is registered at Registrar of Companies(ROC), RoC-Cuttack with an Authorized Share Capital of ₹15,00,000 and paid-up capital is ₹1,00,000.
The company has 2 directors/key management personal Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, Soumya Prakash Das, who is brother of Babby Das while company registration number is 046998 and its Corporate Identification Number(CIN) provided from MCA is U88900OD2024NPL046998. As per MCA records the Foundation is involved in activities such as Social work activities without accommodation.
It may be noted here that MP Mangaraj was carrying a bank loan of around 70 Lakhs in 2009 but later he was able to float around 3 more new companies with help from VK Pandian and tainted IPS officer DS Kutey and now owns huge assets and properties in and around Bhubaneswar and Khurda.
