IPS Officer takes Fake Medical Leave to Influence Voting in favour of BJD: ECI Directs IGP ( Odisha CM Security) Ashish Singh to face Medical Examination for his Dubious Medical Leave since May 4

BHUBANESWAR:   The 2010 batch IPS officer and present IGP (CM Security) Ashish Kumar Singh, since his transfer from Central Police range, Cuttack, not sleeping well , it seems.

The IPS officer after being posted as IGP CM Security, had taken leave on May 4 on medical ground but sources said, he is influencing voters and working for BJD. The IPS officer now under scanner of ECI.

‘Ashish Kumar Singh, IPS, 2010, IGP(CM Security), being on medical leave since May 4, be present himself for detailed medical examination by a special medical board constituted by Director AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, not later than May 30. CEO Odisha, shall coordinate to ensure that Director AIIMS-Bhubaneswar constitutes special medical board to ascertain illness and treatment being undergone. Report on this shall reach the Commission latest by May 31, ECI directive said.

‘I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to state that the CEO Odisha in his communication dated 27-05-2024, has made certain averments indicating undue influence being exercised by DS Kuttey , Special Secretary, CMO Odisha, and Ashish Kumar Singh , IG CM Security, on officers directly connected with conduct of election work. This was further corroborated by various other inputs received from the field from time to time, ECI  wrote to Odisha CEO.

Both Special Secretary Kuttey, an IPS officer of 1997 and IG (CM Security) , Singh, an IPS officer of 2020 were allegedly influencing election duty officials and ECI taken action against them following a report from Odisha CEO NB Dhal.
