BHUBANESWAR:  Like every year, this year “Odisha Day” will be celebrated at State, district and sub-continent levels. A virtual meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department to observe the day while following the model Code of Conduct.

In the context of this year’s General Election-2024, Director Mr. Saroj Kumar Samal gave an initial information about the pattern of Odisha Day celebration as per the model code of conduct implemented by the Election Commission of India. Principal Secretary Mr Singh directed to observe the Odisha Day at the district and sub-district levels with proper decorum following the election code of conduct.

On the occasion of Odisha Day, all the grooms in the district will be garlanded. Morning procession will be held in the morning with only orthodox patriotic music being played through the record. A public meeting will be organized on the purpose of celebrating Odisha Day and the contribution of the bridegrooms, including the District Collector, senior officials of the district, educationists, intellectuals etc. At the beginning of the meeting, Utkal Janni music will be performed at the venue approved by the Information and Public Relations Department.

Students under the age of eighteen will be invited to this meeting. Apart from this, there will be a cultural program and Odia patriotic music composed by the bridegrooms. District and sub-district major government buildings can be illuminated.

No political person will be invited to this event, nor can any government program be promoted, disseminated or any party logo used. On this occasion, it has been decided not to offer any kind of processions, banners and placards along with political speeches and campaigns. It has been decided that prizes can be awarded through competitions among school students.
