BHUBANESWAR/JODA/BARBIL: B Prabhakaran, the most influential Mining Contractor, who owns , Thriveni Earth Movers Pvt Ltd, primarily engaged in mining activities in Odisha, Jharkhand and abroad, has proved his mettle again with Indonesia’s PT Darma Henwa Tbk (DEWA) agreed on a joint venture company establishment and consultancy cooperation with Indian mining services company Thriveni Resomin Pte Ltd. The agreement was signed by President Director of Darma Henwa Saptari Hoedaja and Managing Director of Thriveni Earthmovers Pvt Ltd, Balasubramanian Prabhakaran, sources said on Tuesday quoting media reports from Indonesia.
In February this year, a proposal of Thriveni Earthmovers had been approved by the Naveen Patnaik led Government in Odisha , for setting up 30 MTPA underground Slurry Pipe Line, with a total investment of Rs. 948.90 crores, which will create employment opportunities for 217 people.
In December 2019, B Prabhakaran, the Tamil Nadu’s Salem born mining contractor, who owns Thriveni Earthmovers Private Ltd and India’s largest energy conglomerate NTPC’s flagship Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project Jharkhand had implemented “intelligent mine”.Prabhakaran works in dozen over iron ore mines in Odisha’s Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj belt.
Thriveni had awarded Zyfra the contract to implement its Intelligent Mine solution at PBCMP.Zyfra’s mining division (formerly – VIST Group) is one of the global leaders in the automation of large mining companies in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
A report published in International Mining, said the joint venture agreement stated that Darma Henwa along with Thriveni would establish a joint venture subsidiary which engages in heavy equipment provision, heavy equipment maintenance, and other services. The subsidiary will also open an engineering excellence centre in Bengalon, East Kalimantan.
Meanwhile in the mining services consultancy agreement, Thriveni will provide consulting services to Darma Henwa, to improve operational efficiencies, control and efficiency of cost, increase in production volumes as well as overall management and financial prudence. This is expected to be able to improve Darma Henwa’s performance and productivity in the existing coal projects and mineral mining projects that the company will obtain in the future.
“This agreement was carried out as an effort by Darma Henwa to expand its business to maintenance, servicing, and engineering of heavy earthmoving equipment and mining machinery, also to increase performance and productivity in coal and non-coal projects” said Corporate Secretary of Darma Henwa, Mukson Arif Rosyidi.
Thriveni Group is a major mining contractor in India that has been operating for more than 25 years. The company has expertise in the business of maintenance, servicing, refurbishment, rebuilding, re-engineering, re-hauling, and re-deploying heavy mining equipment and machinery.
Roysyidi explained a number of potential benefits from the cooperation between Darma Henwa and Thriveni. First,it will create prospective business expansion opportunities for the provision and maintenance of heavy equipment that can support Darma Henwa’s activities as a provider of general mining contracting services. Second, there will be a new added value in terms of machine maintenance that is more efficient and effective. Third, there will be a positive synergy along with Thriveni which will serve to further increase the competence of Indonesia’s mining service provider industry.
