Indian Oil Minister meets OPEC Secretary General

ABU DHABI/NEW DELHI: Indian PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has met OPEC Secretary General Dr. Mohammed Barkindo in Abu Dhabi in UAE on Tuesday.

“Productive meeting with Dr. Mohammed Barkindo, Secretary General, OPEC on the sidelines of #ADIPEC2019. We had wide ranging discussions on the current developments in the global oil and gas markets, especially oil price volatilities and crude supplies,” Pradhan twitted.

We further explored ways to strengthen the India-OPEC partnership and work together to address the issues of energy poverty and energy security. Secretary General Barkindo reaffirmed India as an important partner for OPEC, the Indian Minister added.

“Great discussions with  Mike Muller from Vitol Group on the sidelines of #ADIPEC2019. Elucidated upon the attractiveness of the Indian E&P sector owing to the policy reforms, recent #CorporateTax cuts, ease of doing business and liberalisation of fuel retailing norms,” he said.

Invited Vitol Group of Companies to invest in the entire spectrum of oil and gas value chain, especially in the area of biofuels and fuel retailing and partner in the growth story of #NewIndia.
