Indian Coast Guard Airlifted 11 Fisher men in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha SRC PK Jena has said, 11persons in a boat coming from Vizag got struck close to Pati Sonapur beach in Ganjam of the State. They couldn’t negotiate the waves as their boat malfunctioned. He got information from district administration  at 4.32pm, coordinated with Indian Coast Guard  Bhubaneswar and Paradeep DIGs for  air rescue.

Helicopter started flying at 4.55pm and all 11stranded persons rescued through helicopter operations by 6.15 pm . A great operation. Outstanding achievement by Indian Coast Guard, Jena said . Lightning fast response, absolute precision air rescue and so fast. Kudos to the team, he added.

DG Fire Services Santosh Upadhyay coordinated with Coast Guard authorities and they handled the operation efficiently. Upadhyay lauded efforts of DIG Coast Guard and Team Coast Guard.
