India-Vietnam shares close bonding, says BJP National VP Jay Panda

NEW DELHI: Both India and Vietnam shares a very strong bonding since long and the bilateral relationship is a landmark in South Asia’s geopolitics, said BJP National Vice-President and Spokesperson Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda.

Panda, a 4th times Indian Parliamentarian, was speaking at India Foundation’s round table on “Vietnam-India relations from traditional bonds to comprehensive strategic partnership” here on Thursday.

Panda along with Prof Le Van Toan, President Science Council of Center for Indian Study, Vietnam, P Stobdan security expert also spoke on this occasion. The event was chaired by Shristi Pukhrem.

Meanwhile, Vietnam appreciates India’s position on the South China Sea issue which is specially relevant in context of recent incidents in its territorial waters, Vietnamese envoy to India Pham Sanh Chau .

Pham also said that Vietnam understands India’s “genuine concerns” over which it did not join the RCEP.”That is why we try to strengthen services cooperation with India,” he said.

After years of negotiations, India had pulled out of the China-backed mega Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) over unresolved “core concerns”, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying in Bangkok that the proposed deal would have adverse impact on the lives and livelihoods of all Indians.
