NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: India Today-Axis My India exit poll has predicted that Industrialist and BJP MP candidate , Naveen Jindal is likely to win the Kurukshetra seat in Haryana against the Aam Aadmi Party’s Sushil Gupta. BJP had won the seat in both 2019 and 2014 general elections while BJP repeating the same in 2024, Exit poll prediction says.
Naveen Jindal, who heads Jindal Steel and Power, OP Jindal Global University and Flag Foundation of India, switched to the BJP from the Congress ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election and is expected to win the Kurukshetra seat in Haryana against the Aam Aadmi Party’s Sushil Gupta, India Today-Axis My India exit poll said.
BJP’s Naveen Jindal fight against INDIA bloc represented by Sushil Gupta of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), while the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD)’s Abhay Chautala.
BJP’s vote share in Kurukshetra has seen a steady increase, rising from 36.81% in 2014 to 55.98% in 2019. Naveen Jindal had twice represented this seat.
All 10 parliamentary constituencies of Haryana went to the polls in a single phase on May 25. The state’s average voter participation in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections stood at 64.8%.
In the 2019 general elections, BJP achieved a resounding victory, winning all 10 parliamentary seats in the state with a vote share of 58.02%.
