BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK: Normal life in twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, on Saturday badly hit in view of incessant rain since morning. Water logging hit many low lying areas of Capital City and Cuttack.
IMD Bhubaneswar has on issued an advisory regarding light to moderate rain/thunderstorm with one or two spells of intense (2-3cm/hour) rainfall in the twin cities.
Meanwhile, a fresh low pressure system is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal in the next 12 hours, said IMD. The system is likely to further intensify into a depression in the subsequent 24 hours by August 14, 2022.
Seasonal cumulative rainfall realized between 1st June to 13th August 2022 is 717.0mm against its normal value of 713.3mm. During the period 4 districts received excess rainfall, 1 district in deficient & rest 25 in normal category.
