IMFA’s Sukinda and Mahagiri Mines awarded in 22nd MEMC week

BHUBANESWAR/SUKINDA: IMFA Sukinda & Mahagiri Mines received top awards on last Saturday at Bhubaneswar during 22nd Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation week concluding day celebration.

The MEMC week was organised under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines, Bhubaneswar Region. The Chief guest R K Sharma, IAS, Additional secretary to Govt. Dept. of Steel & Mines, GoO, Deepak Mohanty, Director of Mines GoO, Debidutta Biswal, Member Secretary, SPCB Odisha, Pankaj Kulsreshtha, Controller of Mines (EZ) – IBM graced as guest of honour. The function was convened by Harkesh Meena, RCOM, IBM- Bhubaneswar.

Eighty Five Mines participated in the conservation week celebration . In this occasion IMFA Mahagiri Mines bagged first prize in Under Ground mining overall performance and Sukinda Mines bagged first prize in Afforestation, 3rd prize in reclamation and rehabilitation . Apart from this 1st prize was given in Odia Slogan by Bulu Mohanty of Mahagiri Mines.

The Awards received by Lalatendu Mohapatra GM, Mines manager Mahagiri Mines and Manoj Samal, Senior Manager, Mines manager of Sukinda Mines along with other team members and Union Branch committee members in presence of Sanjeev Das, Senior VP and Head Mining Business Unit. Entire coordination for the MEMC week inspection was coordinated by Suresh Prusty Senior Manager Geology dept.
