SUKINDA/BHUBANESWAR:In a campus placement for the students of BIPF Sukinda ITI, multi-national engineering major L&T Ltd has selected 53 students of 2018-20 batch as trainees, including 32 students from Fitter and 21 from Electrician trade.
Selected 53 students are undergoing 3-month on the job training programme with monthly stipend & free accommodation at L&T’s CSTI Training Centre at Balikuda, Gopalpur near Cuttack. After completion of the On Job Training programme, they will be placed at different project sites of the company with a good monthly package of industry standard.
BIPF Sukinda ITI’s students of 2017-19 batch recruited earlier by L&T are currently working with the company with a monthly package of more than Rs. 20,000.
Established in 2016 at Sukinda in Jajpur district, BIPF Sukinda ITI is a state-of-the art quality residential industrial training centre is part of “Partners in Development programme” between Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd and Government of Odisha. The ITI centre is affiliated to NCVT, New Delhi, under DGE&T, Govt. of India through Quality Council of India.
The ITI Centre focuses on an outcome-based approach towards quality skilling in the trade of Welders, Fitters and Electricians to help the youth get better job opportunities. A total of 119 students have enrolled in 3 trades for the academic year 2020-21. The occupancy percentage is 54%, as compared to 28% in Jajpur district and 44% in the state.
