BHUBANESWAR: Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) in conjunction with its CSR wing Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) announce the recipients for the prestigious Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education (PGDS) in the year 2020-2021.
PGDS has been instituted by IMFA for meritorious students from financially disadvantaged families, permanently domiciled in Odisha. The Scholarship helps these students in pursuing professional course in medicine, engineering and liberal arts. The amount of upto Rs. 4 lakhs to each recipient will meet 90% of their academic fees and related expenses for the entire duration of the course. Till date 61 students have availed the scholarship.
The six scholarship recipients for 2020-21 are:
1. ANITA KUJUR (MBBS, M.K.C.G MEDICAL COLLEGE, BERHAMPUR)
2. HINAMSU RANJAN PRUSTY (MBBS, M.K.C.G MEDICAL COLLEGE, BERHAMPUR)
3. DEEPAK KUMAR MOHANTY (B.TECH-MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, NIT, ROURKELA)
4. ROSHAN PAIK (MBBS, VIMSAR, BURLA)
5. ASHUTOSH SAHOO (MBBS, S.C.B MEDICAL COLLEGE, CUTTACK)
6. SAMBIT KUMAR AYACH (B.TECH-MINING, GOVT COLLEGE OF ENGG, KEONJHAR)
The recipients shall be felicitated over an award ceremony to be held at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.Late Dr. Bansidhar and Mrs. Ila Panda believed that when the most vulnerable are lifted, entire society benefits. With this belief as their ‘true north’, they began to work with the most marginalised communities of Odisha. In 2011, the Bansidhar and Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) was established to implement sustainable and scalable interventions in the areas of health, education, livelihood and water sanitation. BIPF is structured to partner and collaborate with the Central and State governments as well as local and international organisations to implement programs and drive results, while maintaining accountability and transparency. BIPF works in Cuttack, Rayagada, Keonjhar, Jajpur and Angul districts. Currently, the foundation’s geographic focus spans five districts in Odisha, which cover more than 250 villages and has built its reputation on high impact and performance.
