IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall in Odisha-Andhra-West Bengal

BHUBANESWAR: The IMD on Monday afternoon predicated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh in next 48 hours. SCS Asani moved WNW with a speed of 25 kmph during past 06 hours and lay over WC and adjoining South BoB at 0530 hours IST. To move NWwards till 10th May and reach WC & adjoining NW BoB off North AP & Odisha coasts.  To weaken gradually into a Cyclonic Storm in next 48 hrs, it said.

Isolated heavy falls very likely over Arunachal Pradesh & Assam-Meghalaya during 10th-13th and over Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura during 09th-13th May. Isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Assam-Meghalaya during 11th-13th May. Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Tamilnadu and Kerala on 09th May, IMD said.

Rainfall warning .

9 May: Rainfall at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh. 10 May: Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over coastal AP; heavy rainfall at isolated places over coastal Odisha from 10th evening.12th May: Light to moderate rainfall likely at a few places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal.

Fishermen Warning

 Fishermen are advised not to venture into Westcentral and adjoining South Bay of Bengal on 9th May, into westcentral Bay of Bengal on 9th & 10th and into Northwest Bay of Bengal during 10th- 12th May. Fishermen out at sea are advised to return to coast.
