ICMR Medical equipment Airlifted from Chennai to Bhubaneswar

BHUBANESWAR: With Odisha reported first death in COVID-19 outbreak and positive cases reached at 41 on Tuesday, 2  AN-32 transport aircraft of #Indian Air Force airlifted 19 personnel & 3500 kgs of medical equipment of ICMR from Tambaram in Tamil Nadu to Bhubaneshwar  for the setting up of medical lab and facilities.

The old man from Jharpada area of State Capital breathed his last at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on 6 April.His blood sample report, which was sent for COVID Test however came positive some hours after his death.

Department of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) have meanwhile with the help of State Surveillance Team started contact tracing drive.Of the 41 COVID Cases, Jharpada man becomes the first casualty of the Corona Virus in Odisha.

However, the State’s first two patients from Bargarh and AIIMS area have fully recovered and discharged from hospital.Meanwhile Tuesday also reported another COVID Positive patient from Bhubaneswar.The 45 Year man from Madhu Sudan Nagar, whose travel history is yet to be ascertained tested positive to the Virus.
