CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: Santosh Khuntia of Salipur, husband of Shilpi Santosh Khuntia, of Cuttack, who had on Monday hanged herself before killing her step son, has been arrested by Cuttack’s Madhupatna Police.
Madhupatna police had detained Santosh Khuntia on Monday and arrested him today. He will be produced before the court today. Santosh’s parents have also been named in the complaint. Police may question them.
Santosh was arrested following FIR lodged by his father-in-laws including deceased wife’s parents. The incident had sent shockwave in Cuttack City with police swung into action and arrested Santosh.
The incident s took place at Srirampur slum within Madhupatna police limits. Step son is 2 year old and identified as Sivan Khuntia. On Monday, Shilpi was found hanging while Shivan was found with his throat slit.
As per reports, Shilpi was the second wife of Santosh Khuntia. Shivan was Santosh’s son from his first marriage. While Santosh was an engineer after completing his education at KIIT University in Bhubaneswar, Shilpi was account admin of Fastfix Automotive and earlier a lecturer at Satyasai Engineering College, Balasore having educated in civil engineering from Synergy Institute of Engineering and Technology as per their Facebook profile.
