BHUBANESWAR:  The broadcast of BJD leader VK Pandian’s speech on the state government’s Instagram account is against the model code of conduct for elections. The  delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer of the Odisha to take strict action for this against the former IAS officer.

BJD leaders are misusing the state government’s Instagram and portal. Such activities of BJD leaders prove that bureaucratic rule is going on in Odisha. BJP is always presenting such incidents before the election officials for free, fair and impartial elections in Odisha. BJD leaders campaigning on the official portal and official Instagram is anti-election behaviour. BJP State Chief Spokesperson Sajjan Sharma demanded that this campaign should be stopped immediately and action should be taken against VK Pandian.

ABO Sushant Kumar Beura of Marshaghai block of Kendrapara district is working for BJD Janata Dal together with BJD block president Sanjay Kumar Lenka and other BJD leaders. Similarly, Gangadhar Das, a sports teacher of Mata Tardana College of Mahakalapada block, is openly campaigning for Mahakalapada MLA candidate Atanu Sabyasachi Naik. Photos and videos of which have been sent to the Election Commission as evidence.  Sharma demanded that action should be taken against the officer who violated the election code of conduct and that he should be removed from office.

Some government officials have left their jobs and are campaigning for BJD. BJP has repeatedly complained to the CEO. Mr. Sharma said that government officials should do their work and avoid partisan campaigning.

State Secretary Kasturi Mishra, State Spokesperson Dilip Mallik, State Election Cell Coordinator Jayant Jena, Women’s Morcha State Working Member Premlata Kar were prominently present in this delegation.
