BHUBANESWAR: BJD leader VK Pandian was accompanied by Special Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office, R Vineel Krishna late last night during his visit to Puri on Saturday.
Along with VK Pandian, many other officials of the administration of Srimandi were also seen there. Can a political leader of BJD have a government official when the model code of conduct was implemented? Asked Odisha BJP Former President Samir Mohanty.
The senior BJP leader Samir Mohanty was addressing a press meet along with Party leaders including Sajjan Sharma, Satya Panda, Sujit Das and Anil Biswal.
VK Pandian is not an elected public representative. Why were officials from the Chief Minister’s office present during his visit? Asked Mohanty . “ We will file a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer and the Election Commission of India to take action against Special Secretary R Vineel Krishna and other officials and sack R Vineel Krishna from the Chief Minister’s office.
Even during the election of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister’s Office was behaving like the Chief Minister Naveen Babu’s office is doing today. Indira Gandhi’s election was marred by violation of the same code of conduct. Which later showed the country the dark days of emergency. A repetition of that incident is now seen in Odisha. Some non-Orthodox officers are using the Chief Minister’s officers in violation of code of conduct. The Chief Minister’s office routinely violates the election code of conduct. The Chief Minister is repeatedly using his office for political work in fear of election defeat.
