High Alert in Odisha as Cyclone Jawad all set to hit the Coast

NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: “Now it is officially called a cyclone- Jawad by@Indiametdept . Deep Depression is now converted into cyclonic storm.,” Odisha Special Relief Commissioner ,Pradeep Jena tweeted @PradeepJenaIAS on Friday afternoon.

Adequate teams of NDRF have been pre-positioned in consultation with the respective State Authorities. Cabinet Secretary to hold a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee at 4 pm today to review the situation. Odisha Government on Friday cancelled leaves of all Government employees.Special Relief Commission (SRC) Pradeep Jena said, in view of the impending cyclonic storm over Bay of Bengal (BoB), the state Government canceled the weekly holiday (Sunday i.e December 5). All officials and employees have been directed to reach their respective headquarters immediately.“Those already on have also been asked to return and resume their duty as soon as possible,” he said.
