BHUBANESWAR: ଆଭ୍ୟନ୍ତରୀଣ ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ଆଗାମୀ ୨ ଦିନ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆହୁରି ୨ ରୁ ୩ ଡ଼ିଗ୍ରୀ ଯାଏଁ ବଢିବ ଦିନର ତାତି . ୨୯ ତାରିଖ ଯାଏଁ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଜିଲ୍ଲାରେ ଗ୍ରୀଷ୍ମ ପ୍ରବାହ ସମ୍ଭାବନା ପ୍ରଭାବରେ ଆଜି ଠାରୁ ୨୯ ତାରିଖ ଯାଏଁ କିଛି ଜିଲ୍ଲାକୁ ପାଇଁ ୟେଲୋ ଓ୍ୱାର୍ଣ୍ଣିଂ ଜାରି, IMD Bhubaneswar said.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra on Monday directed DISCOMs not do any load regulation during day time. He also asked Odisha Power Generation Corporation to ramp up generation to meet the deficit during day time.
Chief Secretary Mohapatra said Coal India’s subsidiary, Mahanadi Coal Fields Limited would be asked to supply adequate coal to the IPPs and improve the quality of coal supplied to OPGC.
In view of the rise in power demand and prevailing heatwave conditions, Chief Secretary reviewed the power situation. It emerged that the present deficit is a temporary situation. Peak power demand has gone up by almost 10 percent due to the hot weather conditions.
Gridco, OPTCL, OHPC, OPGC along with other power producing companies and DISCOMs participated in deliberations. Chief Secretary directed to ensure power supply to all areas of the State both rural & urban. Sri Mahapatra said as there is rising heat and exams of the students would commence shortly, the DISCOMs should ensure power supply to domestic users and commercial establishments.
