BHUBANESWAR:Adding another new chapter in the state’s healthcare services, Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi today dedicated 150 ambulances to the public in the first phase at Kalinga Stadium.
It is worth noting that the Health Department has made arrangements for 428 new 108 ambulances for the people of the state. Out of this, 419 old ambulances and 2 ambulances that were completely damaged in accidents will be converted into new ambulances. Apart from this, 5 ALS ambulances will be used for use at airports/airstrips in the Commerce and Transport Department and 2 ALS ambulances will be used for Jharsuguda Cardiac Care Hospital. It is worth noting that 5000 patients are being taken to various hospitals in the state daily through 108 ambulances.
Giving a statement to the media at the event, the Chief Minister said that to further improve the emergency ambulance services in the state, the old ambulances are being replaced with new ones in a phased manner. To further speed up the health services, 108 more EMAS ambulances have been purchased. The state government has spent Rs 111 crore for 428 ambulances.
Today, the first phase of 150 new emergency ambulances are being dedicated to the people of Odisha. The Chief Minister said that the remaining new ambulances will soon be deployed in the ambulance service, along with the old Emergency Medical Ambulance Service (EMAS) fleet.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Ekamra Bhubaneswar MLA Shri Babu Singh, Health Department Commissioner and Secretary Ashwati S, Mission Director of National Health Mission, Odisha Dr. Brunda D and various officers and employees of the Health Department were present at the event.
