JAJPUR: Murder accused Rupesh Bhadra’s ‘Rangasala’ bulldozed. The illegal guest house ‘Rangasala’ of Rupesh Bhadra, main accused in Haridaspur PEO Smitarani Biswal’s mysterious death, is scheduled to be demolished Friday.
Rupesh Bhadra, who was arrested on October 19 on charges of abetting suicide of Smitarani, owns the guesthouse. He is the husband of Haridaspur sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra.
According to sources, Madhusmita expressed resentment regarding the demolition alleging that the notice about the razing was served yesterday following which the owners did not have enough time to evacuate.
The owner of the illegal establishment also managed to get the support of the villagers. The irate locals gathered near the guesthouse with a decision to not let administration pull down the building, sources said.
Reportedly, one platoon of police force has been deployed at the spot to avoid any untoward situation.
The state government had earlier asked Jajpur Collector Ranjan Das to demolish ‘Rangasala’ – the unauthorised guest house constructed on a government land at Baligari under Dharmasala tehsil of the district where the lady PEO Smitarani Biswal died under suspicious circumstances.
On October 16, the body of village-level worker and in-charge Haridaspur PEO Smitarani Biswal was found hanging in the guest house of Rupesh Bhadra, husband of Haridaspur sarpanch Madhusmita Bhadra. After a probe, Bhadra was arrested on October 19 for abetting the suicide of the lady PEO.
