BHUBANESWAR:Today, Harekrushna Sing, Assitant Executive Engineer & Subrat Mohanty, JE, Odisha Lift Irrgn Corporation, Udala Sub-Div, in Mayurbhanj were nabbed for taking bribe Rs 60,000/- (share Rs 32K of AEE/Rs 28K of JE) from a Contractor as an instalment of an overall demand of Rs 1.1 Lakh, to release pending bills.
The contractor had completed projects worth Rs 25 lakh but the duo had withheld 20% bill amount & 5% security deposit, & had demanded 4.5% bribe to clear the same. In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No 1/2026, U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered.
