BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on Tuesday unfurled the National Flag in the State Level Republic Day celebrations at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Bhubaneswar and took salute of the ceremonial march past. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also graced the occasion as Guest of Honour.
“Salute to the bravery & ultimate sacrifice of valiant soldiers from #Odisha, Nuduram Soren on being posthumously awarded #VirChakra and Chandrakanta Pradhan on being posthumously awarded #SenaMedal. They bravely fought against Chinese Army in #GalwanValley before their martyrdom,” Naveen Patnaik tweeted @Naveen_Odisha.
As many as 14 contingents of CRPF, RPF, ODRAF, OISF, Odisha Fire Service, SOG etc. were commanded by 25-year-old S. Susree, Kesinga SDPO, in the parade.Students and NCC cadets were not allowed to participate in the parade this year. Only police contingents took part in the parade. Limited number of guests, including some Covid warriors, were invited to the event.
An officer of 2018 batch, S Susree is currently serving as the Kesinga SDPO, commanded the state-level Republic Day parade at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar in the presence of Odisha Governor Prof Lal and Chief Minister Patnaik. She led 14 contingents of CRPF, RPF, ODRAF, OISF, Odisha Fire Service, SOG etc. in the parade. DGP Abhay was impressed with her performance.
Kerala’s, Susree was born to Sunil Kumar, Assistant Commandant, CRPF and Sreekala, a teacher. She was a CBSE topper in 10th and 12th exams and also topped the Kerala University in BA in English.Susree had cleared the UPSC examination in her first attempt by securing 151st rank.
