BHUBANESWAR: Governor Raghubar Das was on Monday addressed the first day of the Monsoon Session of Odisha Assembly amid walkout of Oppositions BJD and Congress. Most of poll promises of BJP were reflected in Governor’s address.
Governor Das said, the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will ensure the recruitment of 1.5 lakh vacant Government posts in a fair and transparent manner, with 65,000 positions to be filled within the next two years.
Governor Das in his address said that the State Government will establish Odia Samudaya Bhawans in all major metro and other important cities across India.
‘My Government will adopt a “Senior Citizen First” policy across all State Government schemes, ensuring that the elderly receive priority in benefits and services delivery,” he said adding Government will establish counselling centres in schools and facilitate career counselling from class 9th.
To improve access to educational resources, Library on Wheels (LoW) will be introduced to bring libraries to tribal students, he said. ‘My Government is going to implement the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana in Odisha, that provides health assurance for all eligible Odisha residents ensuring critical financial protection and access to quality healthcare: Governor in assembly,” he said.
He said a wildlife tourism circuit will be created by linking national parks and sanctuaries, attracting wildlife enthusiasts and promoting conservation. To enhance beach tourism, govt will establish a coastal circuit connecting all the beaches.
Empowering local tribal communities through sustainable tourism, my Govt will establish Eco-Tourist Hubs and Homestays in villages, promoting cultural exchange and economic development, the Governor said.
The State Government is going to launch a new sports policy with focus on providing infrastructure for players starting from the village level to creating a support ecosystem: Governor in state assembly, he added.
