BHUBANESWAR: Padamshree Professor (Dr) Gopal Chandra Mitra, who has worked for renovation and preservation of heritages like Jagannath Temple and many more, passed away at 85. Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has condoled the death of Mitra.
“Hon’ble Governor condoled the death of Dr G C Mitra,PadmaShri & former EIC -cum Secy, Works Dept well recognised for his technological capabilities breathed his last. ‘He will always be remembered for his notable contribution in restorating the Garvagriha of Sri Mandir,” Governor Odisha tweeted @GovernorOdisha.
Holding Indian Road Congress in Odisha and present IRC village He has done a lot for FCI, HAL, IPICOL and IDCO. Finally, he retired as Engineer in Chief and Work Secretary a quarter Century back.
