BERHAMPUR: Golanthara PS case no- 03 dt. 04.01.2024, U/S-294/323/353/506/307/34 IPC, R/W sec-25/27 Arms act R.W Section 3/5 E.S. Act. Golanthara police arrested 4 persons, 2 guns seized along with huge ammunition and 2 deer horns seized from them.
Brief of the Case-
Based on a reliable tip regarding movement of Chian Gouda, a close associate of antisocial Kuna Behera (who is now in jail) in Tamana Reserve Forest armed with deadly weapons, Golanthara PS team along with SDPO Sadar conducted raid in the afternoon of 04.01.23. while conducting raid the accused persons tried to escape into the jungle.
Police team apprehended the accused Chian Gouda along with his other associates. After their apprehension the above mentioned articles used in hunting were seized from their possession. All four persons were arrested. They were arrested and are being forwarded to court today.
Accused Chian aka Purna Gouda and Shankar Pradhan are antisocial and were earlier arrested in several cases under Digapahandi and Golanthara PS. The accused Chain Gouda was involved in attacking the Police team in the year 2021. The investigation of the case is in progress. Involvement other person is under verification. The seized two deer horns will be handed over to Forest department for registration of case under wildlife act and investigation by them.
Seizure Details
1. 2 Country made muzzle loading single barrel guns,
2. 125 live cartridges (65 MM),
3. 200 empty cartridges,
4. Lead splinter balls- 10 Kg,
5. Lead splinter balls- 250 g (small),
6. Gun powder- 200 g,
7. 2 lead bar used in making the splinter balls
8. one head troch light used for hunting,
9. Equipment used for assembling the cartridges,
10. 2 deer horns with skull.

Chian aka Purna Gouda(35), S/O- Saura Gouda of village Singabadi, Sankar Pradhan(55), S/O- Krutibash Pradhan of village Medinipur, Abhi aka Bhalia Mallick(40), S/O- Kusia Mallick of village Betajhari, PS-Digapahandi and Brudaban Mallick (45), S/O- Makar Mallick of village Kanheiput of PS Golanthara.
